At least both parties know there even is a time limit. Many heroes and villains aren't even that lucky.

Gianna tries to stare Corpus down, but visibly and regretfully relents (with "SIGH" SFX).
Duke Corpus: Quite so. Now then...
Gianna carries Corpus over to a room with a strange glow, opening the green door to go in.
Duke Corpus: Let us set the stage.
Gianna (quietly): ...yes, m'lord.
Duke Corpus: I fear we've no notion of where our foes dwell now.
Cut to Brudil and Pleht, looking at each other in exasperation - the spiral stairs have led to a path completely blocked by thick orange roots.
Pleht: And you didn't think an AXE would be of any use?!
Brudil: Look, we're already here, and we don't know how much time we have!
